Monophlebidae are a group of two families of insects, comprising four genera (Diptera) and six species (Hymenoptera). These insects are known for their solitary nature, with only one abdominal segment. Monophlebidae primarily inhabit trees, including oak, hickory, and maple. They feed on nectar, pollen, or other sugars from flowers.
