Merredinia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae, native to western Asia and central Europe. They are often known by their common name, meridians or merrenias, due to their unique arrangement of leaves which resembles an onion or pear. These plants have been used for medicinal purposes throughout history, often referred to as "the medicine plant".
