Human respiratory virus C20 is a highly pathogenic strain of coronavirus that causes acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and severe lung injury in humans, primarily affecting children under 6 years old. It is a member of the genus Betacoronavirus of the family Coronaviridae. This strain was first identified in a patient with ARDS at the University Hospital of Strasbourg, France, on March 18, 2021.
