Circaetus 🔍

Circaetus is a species of bird in the family Pavoidea, which includes pigeons and other small mammals. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his seminal work "Systema Naturae," published in 1758. The name "circaetus" comes from its long, thin bill that resembles a cat's tail, which is said to be the result of an evolutionary adaptation for hunting small prey like rats and mice.
