The bacteria produce a unique compound called "pseudobiofilm" which provides protection from environmental stressors like cold or heat, making it ideal for keeping these animals warm or dry in harsh conditions.

Bowmanella is a type of bacteria that belongs to the genus Bacteroides, which is also known as the "bowenella" or "bennettella". This bacterium has a circular shape and is commonly found in soil, water bodies, and other environments. It can cause infections such as bursitis (swelling of the lymph nodes) and osteomyelitis (infection of bone).
